St Thomas Wedding: Catholic Ceremony

Congratulations to Andrea and CJ!!!!

Their lovely Saint Thomas wedding took place at the beautiful Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral.  It was a elegant traditional catholic ceremony. The church has been under restoration for a few years and it was looking extra stunning on their wedding day. This has to be one of the prettiest churches on St. Thomas. 

This was an extra special location for Andrea and CJ to exchange their wedding vows because the bride’s parents where also married in this church. 

After the ceremony we all headed up the mountain to St Peter’s Great House for the cocktail hour and the wedding reception. We walked through the lush & colorful botanical garden for a few photos of just the bride and groom and later went to the overlook to watch the sun set. The Great House has a great view of Magens Bay and the British Virgin Islands.

The Great House also provides a large ballroom that is air-conditioned that is absolutely perfect for a wedding reception within the botanical gardens. We had a ton of fun celebrating by cutting the wedding cake and dancing. They even tossed the wedding bouquet and the garter. Everything was just so picture perfect!

It was a truly an honor to photograph your wedding day. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness!

St Thomas Surprise Proposal

Surprise proposals are always a fun way to spend my days! I feel like paparazzi hiding in the bushes waiting for that one special moment that two people will remember for the rest of their lives. As a St. Thomas photographer, it's one of the most enjoyable ways to photograph two people who love each other. 

I recently shot an engagement for these two handsome men on Limetree Beach. Dominic and Ed came to St. Thomas on a cruise ship. Dominic contacted me a few weeks before they were scheduled to dock in St. Thomas to see if he could put something together for their surprise proposal. I immediately suggested Limetree Beach because it's so close to the cruise ship and it's a beautiful spot for photos! 

Having no idea of the surprise that awaited him, Ed wanted to wear his swimwear off the ship. Dominic persisted by telling him he needed to wear his khaki shorts and his Hawaiian shirt (which I love).

When they got to the beach Dominic got on one knee, the world stopped for me to get this perfect shot. Ed finally understood what was going on and of course said YES! We then spent the next hour documenting their love for one another.

It was such a joy and an honor to be a part of this day with these guys. We hope to see them back in the near future for their destination St. Thomas wedding! 

St Thomas Family Photos

Every year since 2013, I've had the pleasure of photographing this amazing family of five. Mr. and Mrs. Whaley and their two boys and little girl are such a photogenic family. They come down once a year to their timeshare at The Marriott. This family is so sweet and fun to photograph. It's incredible that I get to watch this family grow up into awesome humans. 

The Whaleys come down to St. Thomas each year on their wedding anniversary. I love helping them capture the memories they're creating every year on St. Thomas.

Check out this fabulous family and some of my favorite shots from over the years. I can't believe how young the boys where at our first photo shoot.

As a St. Thomas family photographer, I get to take photos for lots of families each year. Most of the families I photograph are only here once. While it's a great experience to be able to capture different families from all over the world, it's rare that I get to see them after the initial session. I find it special to be able to take photos of the Whaleys each year and to see their growth. 

In the past years, we've taken photos at Lindquist Beach and Frenchman's Reef and this year at The Frenchman's Cove. Each year is just as fun as the last and I love how cute everyone always looks for pictures.

I can't wait to see these guys next year! I hope to be capturing their life events for years to come!
