Crown Images Celebrates 10 Years!

Added on by sage hammond.

This month, Crown Images is celebrating our 10th year of being a St. Thomas wedding photographer!

When I look at my life 10 years ago and compare it to today, I see two completely different times in my life! 10 years ago, I was an international flight attendant and assisting in photography in Manhattan, New York. Today, I am on an island in Caribbean Sea photographing weddings, families, engagements and honeymooners in the USVI!

Moving from New York was a huge change of pace for me. I came to St. Thomas on a much-needed vacation and to visit one of my good friends who lived here. I quickly fell in love with the island, the people and the slower-paced environment.

It is so hard to believe that I have been calling St Thomas home for the last 10 years, the time has gone by so fast. It still feels like everyday that I'm taken aback by the beauty of the island and the love from the community I have found here in the Caribbean.

Lately, I've taken to looking through some of my older photos and I can see that my style and my experience has grown exponentially. Here is a photo from each year from when I started as a St. Thomas Wedding Photographer up until now with Crown Images!

I can't imagine being anywhere else or doing anything else! There have been some tough times and there have been some amazing times, but I can't imagine being anywhere else in the world. I've grown to love this island and view the US Virgin Islands as my home.

I do want to take a second to thank all of my couples and USVI vendors from the past 10 years. I wouldn’t be where I am today without you all. Thank you!

St Thomas Marriage Proposal

Added on by sage hammond.

There is something so exciting about watching a man get down on one knee and propose to his future wife! Marriage proposals have to be one of my favorite photo session in the Virgin Islands. I really like how this proposal session went....

will you marry me on st thomas
how to propose in the virgin islands

I arrived at the beach first and wrote out in the sand "WILL YOU MARRY ME?"

The couple planned a romantic sunset beach walk on Magen's Bay Beach. While they were walking down the beach they came across the writing in the sand and he got down on one knee and proposed. She said "YES!!!!"

Dear Eric,

I'm so excited to be celebrating our first year of marriage! It feels like yesterday that we exchanged our wedding vows at Middleham Falls on Dominica! I will forever remember the month of September 2013. We signed our marriage license on the first of September on St Thomas and a couple days later hopped on a small airplane to Dominica where we rented a little apartment in Trafalgar Village for the rest of the month. We spent the first few days of our trip exploring and looking for the perfect spot to exchange our wedding vows, I remember being worried that I wouldn't be able to hear you over the sound of the waterfall and that we would have to share our sacred wedding location with other hikers, but everything about our wedding was perfect. Our wedding wasn't traditional, it was just the two of us, we wrote our own vows, and hiked up into the mountain to stand next to a waterfall, and everything about our day a year later is still with me, I remember it so clearly and adore it. We spent the rest of the month hiking, exploring, soaking in hot natural springs, and loving all that Dominica is. I feel so lucky to have these memories and to have shared every second with you.

I love you,

Sage
